Description:
Klaus Schulze-produced Cosmic German Electronics 1981 masterpiece 1ST reissued on LP! Produced by KLAUS SCHULZE of WALTER BACHAUER = CLARA MONDSHINE, a synthesizer player who is also a journalist and radio director. In the 70's, she participated in PETER MICHAEL HAMEL's new age kraut act BETWEEN, and until her death in 1989, she released three albums under the name of mysterious female artist CLARA MONDSHINE on SCHULZE's label, INNOVATIVE COMMUNICATION.DIE DRACHENTROMMLER (DRAGON DRUMMERS)", selected for TIGERSUSHI's Space Disco Reedit Series Compilation "DIRTY SPACE DISCO", the deep, experimental cosmic synth "LANGE The album includes "MELODIE FUR DEN COUNTDOWN (LONG MELODY TOWARDS COUNTDOWN)" and "LANDUNG BEI VOLLMOND (LANDING AT FULL MOON)". This album is recommended for those who like pop and danceable electro music such as "ZUCKERZEIT" by CLUSTER.Featured on the soundtrack are a number of timeless songs by Jacob Dylan and other artists featured in the film. For example, Mamas & Papas' 1965 debut single "Go Where You Wanna Go" is performed by Jacob Dylan and Jade Castrinos as an organic folk-rock number, and Beck performs The Byrds' "The Bells of Rhymney" and "Goin' Back" by The Byrds. Also, Stephen Stills and Jacob Dylan perform together on Buffalo Springfield's "Questions," and Neil Young is also featured on two songs, including "What's happening" and "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times." The soundtrack CD also features "What's happening" and "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times," two songs featuring Neil Young. Also of note is the inclusion of a "bonus track" on the soundtrack CD only, the Monkees' "She" performed by Eagles of Death Metal's Joyeux Homme and Jacob Dylan. The soundtrack was produced by Andrew Slater, who also directed the film. The performances, including the special collaborations included in the film, were recorded at historic recording studios in Los Angeles, including Sunset Sound and Western Recorders, which were also used for the original versions of the songs in the film. All of these rare performances were only possible because of this documentary. In the late 1960s, many dreamy musicians gathered in Laurel Canyon, inspiring each other, making music together, and creating a major musical trend. The younger generation, influenced by the music born there, retraced their steps and talked with musicians who knew the music of that time, and new music was born and its genes were passed on to the next generation. ECHO IN THE CANYON" is the soundtrack to such an American music utopia. (2/2)
