Monywa II', watercolour on paper, (2003) by Burmese artist, Than Aung. Monywa is a region in Burma-Myanmar on the east bank of the River Chindwin. This is a delicate depiction of an idyllic rural scene which complements the other piece by the same artist available on this site. Two residents chat amongst the green fields. A modest home in the background lies before the mountainous elevation which captures the purple and pink haze of the daylight. The artist's mastery of watercolour as a medium is clearly evident in the detail of this artwork. The subtle hues used means this painting would be suitable in the decor of most homes and / or offices. In excellent condition, framed and glazed. Signed: 'Than Aung'. A short video clip of this work can be provided upon request. Dimensions with frame : H 55 cm W 69.5 cm Dimensions without frame : H 38.5 cm W 54 cm
